Spartans take non-conference match from Gators

Castleton, VT—Sage's men's soccer team travelled to Vermont to take on the Spartans of Castleton University in a rescheduled non-conference game. After playing to a scoreless first half, the Spartans posted a 2-0 win over Sage on Wednesday afternoon. Castleton is now 5-11 overall, while Sage drops to 7-7.

Castleton's Jack Kingdon struck twice in the contest with his first goal at the 71:29 mark on a pass from Rida Kori. He added his 14th goal of the season just as time was about to expire with a shot at 89:03 to give the Spartans the 2-0 victory.

Castelton's Alex Fernald made 8 saves in earning the shutout victory, while Sage's sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Bourdeau (Castleton-on-Hudson, NY/Maple Hill) made seven saves and drops to 7-7 in net.

Sage is back in action hosting Hartwick College on October 25 at 8 p.m. at ACP's Stadium. Sage will honor their 2019 seniors on Friday at halftime in conjunction with Senior Night.
