Men's Soccer Players and Team Among NCAA Division III leaders for 2017

Indianapolis, IN- The NCAA released the final NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Statistics for the season. On the year, the Gators wrapped their first season as a new member of the Empire 8 Conference by advancing to the championship game and just missed a shot at the league's championship crown after allowing a goal with just 16 seconds left in the match. Sage wrapped the 2017 season with a 10-6-2 overall record after finishing conference play as the No. 3 seed after recording a record of 4-2-1. As a team, Sage was ranked in 16 categories, while two players were ranked in the individual categories for their play in 2017.

Among the Top 100 rankings, Sage was No. 38 in team saves percentage with a 0.827 saves percentage on the year. The team was also No. 60 in saves per game (6.39).

Sage's junior forward River Seybolt (Selden, NY/Longwood) and junior goalkeeper Michael Chiaravalloti's (Torrington, CT/Oliver Wolcott) were among the top performers honored for their efforts as well on the pitch.

Seybolt, who was named the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Association All-East Second Team for his play this past season as well as the 2017 Empire 8 Men's Soccer Player of the Year, was ranked in seven categories. He finished the season fifth in the country in shots per game (5.61 spg), while also ranking 15th in shots on goal per game (2.44). He finished the season ranked 23rd in total goals (16), 35th in total points (35), 19th in goals per game (0.89), 26th in game-winning goals (5), and 28th in points per game (1.94).

Seybolt led the league in four different offensive categories as he tallied a personal-best campaign this fall on the pitch. He added 16 goals (.889 per game), with 35 points (1.94 ppg), five game-winning goals with 101 shots (5.61 per game).

In late October, Seybolt became Sage's all-time leading goal scorer, while also breaking the program's all-time point record as well. He has 40 goals with 10 assists and continues to build upon Sage's career point record which he holds with 90 points.

Chiaravolloti was ranked 42nd nationally with his 103 total saves, while his 0.831 saves percentage was 43rd best. He also averaged 6.06 saves per game which is ranked 54th. He was also ranked nationally in goalie minutes played (131st, 1531:49), goals against average (158th, 1.234), and shutouts (134th, 4 shutouts).
