Empire 8 Offensive Men's Soccer Player of the Week status awarded to Seybolt

Rochester, NY- Sage's junior forward men's soccer player River Seybolt (Selden, NY/Longwood) was honored on Monday as the Empire 8 Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Seybolt was instrumental in Sage's 2-0 week with two goals in each game. He scored in the 13th and 23rd minute to give the Gators a 3-0 lead en route to a 4-0 win over Elms College on Wednesday. Seybolt helped secure Sage's first E8 win on Saturday as he scored the go ahead goal at 82:50 and put in a second goal at the 88:42 mark sealing the team's first Empire 8 win.

He also leads the Gators with his 17 points on nine goals and an assist. He continues his climb on the program's all-time scoring list as he moved into the No. 2 spot in career points with 72 on 32 goals and eight assists. With his efforts on Saturday, he surpassed Scott Jarosz (2010-2013, 72 points) for the No. 2 spot in career points, while his 32 goals is now second to Jarosz (35 goals) as well.

With the release of the latest NCAA Division III men's soccer statistics, Seybolt leads the Empire 8 with his two game-winning goals, which is 56th best in Division III. He is also the league leader in goals per game (1.14), points per game (2.43), total goals (9) and total points (17). He ranks 15th nationally in goals per game, 20th in points per game, while standing 20th in total goals and 31st in total points.

Also ranked nationally in this week's men's soccer stats is senior forward Derlis Zayas (White Plains, NY/White Plains) as he checks in second in the league with his 0.43 assists per game average, while adding three assists which is second best in the Empire 8, and 113th nationally. Junior goalie Michael Chiaravalloti (Torrington, CT/Oliver Wolcott) leads the league in saves (49) and saves per game (7.0). He is ranked 28th nationally in saves and 66th with his .831 saves percentage, while standing at 4-3 in goal for the Gators this season with two shutouts.

Next up for the Gators, they will travel to MCLA on September 26 for a 6 p.m. non-conference match-up with the Trailblazers.
