Seybolt delivers twice as Gators top Houghton in Empire 8 Action

Houghton, NY- For the second time in as many games, Sage's junior forward River Seybolt (Selden, NY/Longwood) scored two goals, this time helping the Gators to the first win in Empire 8 play as they travelled to Houghton College on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Sage stands at 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.

The Gators got on the scoreboard after a Houghton miscue that resulted in an on goal and gave Sage a 1-0 halftime lead. Houghton tied the action at the 60:05 mark as Noah Ewing connected for the tying score. Seybolt than scored the go ahead goal at 82:50 and put in a second goal at the 88:42 mark sealing the team's first Empire 8 win.

Seybolt leads the Gators with his 17 points on nine goals and an assist. He continues his climb on the program's all-time scoring list as he moved into the No. 2 spot in career points with 72 on 32 goals and eight assists. With his efforts on Saturday, he surpassed Scott Jarosz (2010-2013, 72 points) for the No. 2 spot in career points, while his 32 goals is now second to Jarosz (35 goals) as well.

Gator junior keeper Michael Chiaravalloti's (Torrington, CT/Oliver Wolcott) collected the win with his six saves on the day.

Next up for the Gators, they will travel to MCLA on September 26 for a 6 p.m. match-up.
