Men's soccer falls to RPI on Saturday night

Troy, NY- The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team travelled to RPI on Saturday night for a non-conference match. RPI used a second half surge tallying three goals to come from behind and beat Sage, 3-1. RPI improves to 2-0, while Sage falls to 0-2.

Junior forward River Seybolt (Selden, NY/Longwood) struck first connecting on his second goal in as many days just 4:24 into the action.  The Gators led 1-0 at the half, before RPI's Danny Corridan tied the game at 54:28 on a feed from Dylan Confair. Confair gave RPI a 2-1 lead with goal less than five minutes later. Corridan added his second goal of the night and the season on a pass from Confair at 63:48.

Seybolt leads Sage with his four points on the season, elevating his career resume to 59 points, third best in the program's history. Seybolt has 26 goals, which is second best with seven assists.

Sage's junior keeper Michael Chiaravalloti (Torrington, CT/Oliver Wolcott) made three saves in goal for the Gators. RPI's Matt LaBranche picked up seven saves in the win.

Next up for the Gators, they will host the Bears of Potsdam State on Friday, September 8 at 4 p.m. in the 2017 home opener at ACP's Athletic Complex.
