Sage Men’s Soccer Adopts Local Family for the Holidays

ALBANY – The Sage men's soccer team worked with the Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families to "Adopt a Family for the Holidays."

The "Adopt-A-Family Program" has been making a difference in the lives of hundreds of local children and families for the past 35 years. The Department for Children, Youth and Families works to match families and donors in Albany County. Once matched, donors receive ages and interests of the children, the children's specific wishes and the needs of the family along with a suggested gift list for ideas.

"Our team really wanted to give back to a local family this holiday season," said head coach Keith Simons. "Adopt-A-Family program is fantastic, and we are very excited to be working with them."

Juniors Joe Diano (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) and Caelan Kohut (Southern Pines, NC/Hudson) took the lead for the team in selecting, organizing and executing the event.

Anyone who is interested in sponsoring a family or making donations can visit the "Adopt-A-Family" page on the Albany Country Department for Children, Youth, and Families website.
