Seybolt Named to Skyline Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Sophomore River Seybolt (Seldon, NY/Longwood) was named to the Skyline Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll Monday afternoon.

Seybolt, last year's Skyline Rookie of the Year, scored a penalty kick along with assisting Sarpong Adjei's (Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton) goal in Sage's (1-2-3, 0-0-1 Skyline) 2-2 tie against Bard. Three days later, the forward netted the game-tying goal in the 74th minute on another penalty kick to give Sage the 1-1 tie against SUNY-Old Westbury in their conference opener.

Seybolt currently leads Sage in goals (two), points (five), shots (18), shots on goal (10) and penalty kicks (2-2). Other team statistical leaders for the Gators include Adjei (two goals), Lai Le (Walnut, CA/Walnut) (two assists), Ryan Fairweather (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) (.500 shot percentage), Paul Reynoso (Oswego, NY/G. Ray Bodley) (1.000 shot-on-goal percentage), Kevin Saar (Binghamton, NY/Windsor Central) (one game-winning goal) and Caelen Kohut (Ancram, NY/Hudson) (28 saves, .757 save percentage, 1.40 goals against average, one shutout).

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy swept the week three honors with Gavin Yingling as the Player of the Week and Alex Madonna as the Rookie of the Week. Yingling scored five goals with four coming off a game with Maritime. The senior is currently leading the Skyline in goals with six. Madonna, a freshman midfielder, scored the first two goals of his career in the Mariners' 2-0 week.

Sage travels to Mt. St. Mary (2-4-1, 1-0 Skyline) Tues., Sept. 20 for their second Skyline contest of the year. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
