Gators fall to unbeaten Cortland State

Cortland, NY---The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team travelled to Cortland State for a non-conference match-up with the Red Dragons on Saturday night. The Red Dragons earned a 4-0 win over Sage to remain unbeaten on the season as they are now 4-0. Sage falls to 1-2-1.

Cortland used a goal by Drew DeJohn on a feed from Tyler Kirschner at 15:55 to take a 1-0 lead after he connected for his first goal of the year on a shot inside the left post. Daniel Friend gave Cortland a 2-0 lead at the break as he scored at 35:02.

Cam LaVallee scored at 71:44 to put Cortland up by a 3-0 margin and Nick Tata finished the scoring with his score at 85:55.

Sage's junior goalie Caelen Kohut (Ancram, NY/Hudson) made four saves on 23 shots faced in the action, while Cortland's Joe Brandofino made one save and earned the shutout victory for his efforts.

Sage is back in action on September 14 hosting Bard College in a non-conference match at Albany College of Pharmacy's Athletic Complex with a 7 p.m. starts.
