Adjei Named to Skyline Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

Skyline Week 1 Release

NEW YORK – Sophomore Sarpong Adjei (Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton) was named to the Week 1 Men's Soccer Skyline Honor Roll.

Adjei earned his spot with a dramatic game-tying goal in the 77th minute from junior Paul Reynoso (Oswego, NY/G. Ray Bodley) against RPI to force a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of play. It was the Adjei's first collegiate goal. The Gators ended week one 0-1-1 with a close loss 1-0 to Union.

Earning Co-Skyline Player of the Week was Pandeli Mano of St. Joseph's – Brooklyn and Jovanni Parkinson of Farmingdale. Mano scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute against Yeshiva for a 2-1 victory, the program's first Skyline win. Parkinson scored a game-winning goal in the 108th minute of play to lift the Rams over Medgar Evers in the final overtime.

Julian Rodriguez of St. Joseph's – Brooklyn was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week. In his collegiate debut, Rodriguez made four saves in goal and gave up one goal on a penalty kick.

Sage's next game will be on the road at SUNY-Cortland on Sat. Sept., 10. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
