As a rookie for the Gators in 2011, Gustavo Trinidad showed his skills as an explosive scorer with dynamic speed.  He closed the season with a selection as the Skyline Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week in helping the Gators to the 2011 Skyline Conference semifinals on November 1. In the first match of the league tournament, he exploded for a hat trick, while adding an assist.

By year’s end, he had tallied 23 points on eight goals with seven assists and was the team’s second leading scorer after playing in 18 games. He capped the performance by also earning acclaim from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the Division III Metro Men’s Player of the Week. Earlier in the season he was tapped as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for his stellar performance.

He finished in second place in the scoring race with his 23 points on 8 goals and 7 assists. He added one game-winning goal as well as a selection as the 2011 team's recipient as the Coaches' Award Winner at Sage.

Sage’s 2011 offense was among the national leaders in several categories.  The Gators ranked 25th in total goals (56), 20th in scoring offense (2.84 gpg), and 38th in total assists (39).

As a sophomore on the 2012 squad, he collected Skyline Conference All-Star First Team honors as well as a spot on the NSCAA All-Region Second Team in the midfield. He finished the season with a team-best 7 assists. He was also second in scoring with his 13 points on 3 goals and 7 assists. He was ranked No. 94 nationally with his seven total assists on the season.

His 2013 season saw him garner Skyline Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Year status after also being named the team’s Gator of the Year as team MVP. Among the additional awards Trinidad earned, was a selection to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire Division III Men’s All-East Third. 

Trinidad was recognized for his efforts over the course of the campaign as he was also placed in the 2013 Skyline First Team. He enjoyed a record-setting season eight game-winning goals after connecting for 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points. The Gators’ scoring leader this past fall, he continues to add to a pair of Sage career scoring marks as well. He is the program’s career game-winning leader (11), while also holding the career assist mark as well with 22. He ranks second all-time with his 64 career points (21g, 22a). On his career he has also played in 58 games (No. 6 on the career list), while starting 54 games (No. 4).

Earlier on the 2013 season, he was named the Skyline and the ECAC Metro Player of the Week in early October after he had a banner week. In one contest, he tied a mark he already owns for connecting for seven points in the Gators’ 6-0 win over Maritime College (Oct. 12, 2013). Trinidad has hit seven points in a contest twice now after first achieving the feat as a rookie in a 7-1 win over SUNY-Old Westbury on October 29, 2011.

A graduate of Mamaroneck High School, he was a four-year letterwinner and earned a Double A all-league selection and helped his team to a fourth place finish in the league one season during his scholastic career. He was a member of the 2008 and 2010 State Cup Championship Team and is the son of Ismael and Elizabeth Trinidad. He is majoring in business at Sage.
