Centerville, MA – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team had two players placed on the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro Division III Team as junior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) and senior defender, Nick Mauro (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central) were both named to the Second Team. The selection comes on the heels of the pair's selection to the NSCAA All-East Regional Third Team.  For the year, Sage earned the No. 1 seed in the 2013 Skyline Tournament but fell in the semifinals in a match decided in penalty kicks. The Gators also earned an ECAC Division III Tournament bid and advanced to the semifinals before their 2013 season came to an end with a 10-5-4 record.

Trinidad earned numerous awards over the course of the campaign including 2013 Skyline Men's Soccer Player of the Year and a spot on the Skyline First Team. He enjoyed a record-setting season eight game-winning goals after connecting for 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points. The Gators' scoring leader this past fall, he continues to add to a pair of Sage career scoring marks as well. He is the program's career game-winning leader (11), while also holding the career assist mark as well with 22. He ranks second all-time with his 64 career points (21g, 22a).

Earlier this season, he was named the Skyline and the ECAC Metro Player of the Week in early October after he had a banner week. In one contest, he tied a mark he already owns for connecting for seven points in the Gators' 6-0 win over Maritime College (Oct. 12, 2013). Trinidad has hit seven points in a contest twice now after first achieving the feat as a rookie in a 7-1 win over SUNY-Old Westbury on October 29, 2011.

As a sophomore, he earned NSCAA All-East Region Second Team honors, while the selection to the team this year for Mauro is a career first.

An anchor on the Gators' defense and a 2013 Skyline Conference First Team honoree, Mauro also found the net this past fall with a goal and two assists. A team co-captain this past fall, he was a Skyline Conference All-Star Second Team honoree as a sophomore in 2011. He helped the Gators to four consecutive Skyline Conference Tournament appearances during his career, while helping Sage rank nationally during that time NCAA Division III statistics in both offensive and defensive categories during that same time frame. He finishes his career having started 55 games, which is No. 3 in the career record book, while his 67 game splayed ranks No. 5 at Sage. He helped the 2013 Gators combine for eight shutouts and helped the team yield just 0.90 goals per game on the season in 20 matches.
