Gator finish Skyline Play with a First Place finish!

The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team travelled to Farmingdale State College on Saturday and the two teams played to a 0-0 in double overtime tie in Skyline Conference action.

In the first half, both teams took four shots each but it would be scoreless at the break. In the second, Sage held the edge in shots 5-2 and a 5-3 advantage on corners, but the 90-minutes of regulation would be 0-0 and force overtime.

In the second overtime, Farmingdale State had the only scoring chances. A shot by Kirby with 3:31 on the clock, which headed towards the right post was saved by sophomore goalkeeper TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon). With less than 10 seconds to play, the Rams final shot from sophomore midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) was saved by Zehner to secure the tie.

Zehner made six saves for Sage, while senior keeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) made two saves for Farmingdale State.

Sage's team stands at 10-3-3 overall and 7-0-2 in the Skyline and earned the top Seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference tournament as well as a first-round bye. The first place finish for the 2013 Gators in the Skyline Conference is a first for the program, which is in its fourth season at Sage.

Sage returns to action on October 29 travelling to MCLA for a non-conference contest to wrap the 2013 regular-season of competition.
