Sage's Trinidad sweeps Player of the Week honors

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team member junior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) was named the Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week on Monday afternoon and just named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Metro Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Trinidad led the Gators in scoring last week with his eight points on three goals and two assists as the team went 1-0-1 and remained unbeaten in Skyline Conference play. He tied a Sage single-game mark with his seven points in the team's 6-0 win over Maritime College on October 12 after pouring in three goals and an assist. Earlier in the week, he added an assist in the team's 1-1 double overtime tie with Mt. St. Mary College.

He leads the Gators with his  23 points on eight goals and seven assists, ranks third in the conference with his 1.92 ppg average, while standing third as well in points (23). He stands No. 2 on the Gator career list with his 59 points, while owning the career assist record with 21.

Trinidad has hit seven points in a contest twice now after first achieving the feat as a rookie in a 7-1 win over SUNY-Old Westbury on October 29, 2011.

Sage returns to action on October 16 hosting Purchase College in a Skyline Conference match that will be held at Saint Rose's Plumeri Sports Complex with an 8:30 p.m. start. Both teams bring a record of 7-3-2 overall into the night, while Sage is 5-0-1 in the league and the Panthers are 4-0-1 in conference play.
