Trinidad's seven points lifts Sage past Maritime, 6-0

Throggs Neck, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team travelled to Maritime College on Saturday afternoon for a Skyline Conference match. The Gators posted a 6-0 win to improve to 7-3-2 overall and a perfect 5-0-1 in the league. Sage used even scoring with three goals in each half en route to the shutout win, the fifth of the year.  

Junior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) connected for the first goal of the afternoon on a feed from senior Kevin Dommreis (LaGrangeville, NY/Millbrook) at the 15:10 mark. By game's end, Trinidad had three goals and an assists. He leads the Gators this fall with his eight goals and seven assists, good enough for 23 points.

Junior midfielder Jose Miranda (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) connected for two assists as well on the day.

Also figuring in the scoring action for Sage on Saturday was senior Nick Mauro (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central), while rookies Christian Pinti (Slate Hill, NY/Minisink Valley) and Elhadj Kourouma (New Haven, CT/Wilbur L. Cross) each found the net in Sage's 6-0 romp.

Sage's senior keeper Tim Madden (Watertown, NY/Watertown) recorded three saves for the Gators and improves to 7-3-2 in goal.

The Gators are back in action on October 16 hosting Purchase College in a Skyline Conference contest starting at 8:15 p.m. at Saint Rose's Plumeri Sports Complex.
