Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team hosted the Knights of Mt. St. Mary College in Wednesday night in a Skyline Conference match that featured the league's two unbeaten teams as both entered the action with a 4-0 record in conference play. The teams emerged with a 1-1 double overtime tie. The Gators are now 6-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the Skyline, while is MSMC 8-2-1 overall and also 4-0-1 in the Skyline Conference.

A year ago, these two teams met in the Skyline Conference semifinals and the Knights collected a 1-0 win to advance to the 2012 conference championship match. In the regular-season meeting, the two teams played to a scoreless double-overtime tie.

After playing to a scoreless first half, Sage's freshman midfielder Kyle LeClerc (Beacon, NY/Beacon) connected for the first goal on a corner play as junior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) fed the ball for the goal at the 60:10 mark.

MSMC's tied the action at the 73:06 mark as senior Brandon Mincher (Bayport, NY/Bayport-Bluepoint) scored on a pass from junior forward Matt Garcia (Wappinger Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) and tied the contest. The goal was the fourth of the season for Mincher.

The game went to overtime with the score deadlocked at 1-1 and went to a second overtime period before ending in a tie after 110 minutes of soccer.

Sage's senior keeper Tim Madden (Watertown, NY/Watertown) recorded six saves for the Gators, while MSMC's senior Matt Darling (Staatsburg, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) made 11 saves for the Knights.

Sage returns to action on October 12 travelling to Maritime College for a q p.m. Skyline Conference contest, while Mt. St. Mary College will visit St. Joseph's (LI) for a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference match that same day.
