Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team hosted the Panthers of SUNY Old Westbury on Tuesday evening in a Skyline Conference match. The Gators posted a 1-0 win to remain unbeaten in the league (3-0 Skyline Conference, while improving to 5-3-1 overall. Old Westbury drops to 4-5-1 and 0-2-1 Skyline Conference.

Sage's sophomore Andrew Bartoah (New Haven, CT/James Hillhouse) scored the first goal of the match and his first of the season at 29:45 on a feed from junior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck).  The score was the only of the first half as the Gators took a 1-0 lead into the intermission, a score that would hold up as a final score. Trinidad leads Sage in scoring with 14 points (5 goals, 4 assists). He now has 16 career goals and now has 50 career points.

Sage's senior keeper Tim Madden (Watertown, NY/Watertown) recorded five saves in posting the shutout win, the third of the season for the Gators. Old Westbury's senior goalie Marcelo Guardado (Huntington Station, NY/Huntington) made seven saves in the action.

Sage returns to action on October 6 hosting Yeshiva University in a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference match that will be played at Albany College of Pharmacy's Athletic Complex. SUNY Old Westbury returns to action on October 5 travelling to Farmingdale State for a noon Skyline Conference contest.
