Saratoga Springs, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team was in action on Friday afternoon travelling to nearby Skidmore College. The contest was the home opener for Skidmore and they posted a 2-1 win. The victory puts Skidmore at 1-2 overall, while Sage falls to 1-1-1.

Skidmore took a 1-0 lead as rookie Nick Masiero (Richmond, MA) on a feed from junior midfielder Adam Beek (Kingston, Jamaica) at 36:38. The Gators tied the action minutes into the second half as freshman midfielder Christian Pinti (Slate Hill, NY/Minisick Valley) connected for his first goal of the season at 49:48 on a fee from rookie Kyle LeClerc (Beacon, NY/Beacon) and senior midfielder Kris Kallenbach (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central). The tie was broken at the 63:56 mark as Beek scored unassisted after beating a defender inside the box.

In goal for the Gators, senior Tim Madden (Watertown, NY/Watertown) made the start and recorded five saves, while Skidmore's sophomore goalie Eli Kisselbach (Stamford, CT) picked up the win with one save in the action.

Sage returns to action on September 8 hosting King's College (PA) at 1 p.m. at RPI's Renwyck Field.
