Troy, NY---The Sage College hosted the Knights of Mt. Saint Mary College on Tuesday night at RPI's Renwyck Field. The Gators cruised to a 6-1 conference win and stand at 7-5-1 overall and 3-2 in the Skyline Conference. MSMC drops to 4-4-1 overall and 2-3 in the league.

Sage jumped out to an early lead as sophomore Chris Peralta (Wyandanch, NY/Martin Luther King, Jr.) converted his shot off the opening kick and scored just 24 seconds into play. MSMC tied the action as sophomore midfielder Brandon Mincher (Bayport, NY/Bayport-Bluepoint) converted a feed from junior Christian Redl (Poughkeepsie, N/Arlington) at 22:43.  

Sophomore Wesley Finch (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) scored the next goal, the game-winner on a pass from sophomore defender Nick Mauro (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central) at 35:08. Finch added another goal and continues to lead Sage in scoring this fall as he has a personal-best eight goals and 20 points.

Sophomore Evan Southworth (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) opened the second half scoring with his fifth goal of the year and won the battle of the Southworth brothers on Tuesday. His older brother, Brian is a junior defender with MSMC and the 2011 meeting marks the second time the brothers have squared off against one another after they met in 2010 and played to a 0-0 overtime draw.

Sage's freshman goalie Trevor Paddy (Brooklyn, NY/Jamaica) made four saves and shared time on goal with sophomore Cory Gransbury (Round Top, NY/Cairo-Durham). MSMC's sophomore Matt Darling (Staatsburg, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) made five saves in the contest for the Knights..
