Fourth Quarter RSC Comeback Attempt Falls Short vs. SUNY Plattsburgh

ALBANY, N.Y. –  A fourth quarter Russell Sage College comeback attempt fell short in Saturday's 12-9 non-conference loss to visiting SUNY Plattsburgh.

Down 10-5 with 9:48 remaining, the Gators scored three unanswered goals to get within two, 10-8 with 7:47 to go.  However, the Cardinals broke the RSC run with a goal just 44 seconds later.

Midfielder Anthony Marrone (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township), a grad student, fired home five goals to pace the RSC offense, while freshman goalkeeper Jordon Hankel (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) registered 13 saves.

Sophomore attacker Dyland Ruland topped SUNY Plattsburgh (2-1) with four goals and an assist.

RSC (0-2) plays next on Wednesday at 4:00 PM against Eastern Connecticut State.
