RSC Men's Lacrosse Team amongst the NCAA National Stats leaders

Indianapolis, IN – Russell Sage College's men's lacrosse team wrapped a successful season under the direction of head coach Ryan Lanigan. Along the way, RSC has some significant accomplishments. By year's end the Gators were among the national Top 100 ranked program as a team and had individuals also featured in the rankings.

RSC ranked 53rd with a 0.313 shot percentage, while ranking 91st in assists with 120 and 99th with a 7.06 assists per game average.

Graduate performer and midfielder Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) ranked 18th with his 0.500 shot percentage. Martin holds the RSC Men's Lacrosse Career Records for most points (139), goals (90), assists (49), games started (44), Man-up Goals (12), game-winning goals (3), while ranking 7th in ground balls (81), 7th in caused turnovers (23), and 2nd games played (44).

Sophomore defenseman Joe Johnson (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls), who was chosen for the Empire 8 Third Team in 2023, ranks 83rd with his 2.0 caused turnovers per game average. Johnson tallied 17 starts in 2023 and had a team-best 73 ground ball pickups with 34 caused turnovers. He also tallied three points on two goals with an assist. He ranks second in the Empire 8 with a 2.0 caused turnovers per game average, while standing fifth with a 4.29 ground balls per game average in the league. Johnson is making his mark in the program record book as well as he is third with 100 career ground balls, third with a 3.57 career ground balls per game average, second with 47 caused turnovers and currently first with his 1.68 career caused turnovers per game average in 28 games played.

2023 Empire 8 Second Team attacker, rookie Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) ranked 90th with his seven man-up goals on the year. Kettle started 15 of 16 games played and led all newcomers with 45 points on 32 goals with 13 assists. He added seven man-up goals and added 31 ground ball pickups. He scored in 12 games with eight multiple-goal performances and also scored three or more goals on seven different occasions. He owns a .590 shots on goal percentage. He is ranked No.10 in the Empire 8 this spring with his 2.0 goals per game average, while his 2.81 points per game average is 12th highest.

Senior middie Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) ranked 75th with his 0.418 shots percentage on the season. Abreu stands second all-time with his 106 points, while ranking second in career goals (71), third in career assists (35), second in man-up goals (10), tied for first with Martin for career game-winning goals (3), tied for fourth with 40 games played and second with 40 career starts.
