Abreu nets 100th career point as Gators fall to SJFU

Albany, NY – Russell Sage College's men's lacrosse team hosted the Cardinals of St. John Fisher University on Saturday afternoon for an Empire 8 match-up. The Cardinals posted a 30-7 win to move 6-0 in the Empire 8 and 6-9 overall. The loss puts RSC at 5-11 overall and 1-5 in the league.

Senior midfielder Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) finished the afternoon with a goal and two assists. Abreu leads the Gators this spring having scored 33 goals, while his 48 points ranks second on the team. On Saturday, he connected his 100th career point and now has 101 points on 70 goals with 31 assists. He is now second all-time in both points and goals, while standing third in assists in his time as a Gator.

RSC's freshman attacker Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) led the Gators with four points as he scored two goals and assisted on two others. 

Rookie goalie Andrew Collora (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) recorded 10 saves in the contest with 17 goals allowed in the first half, while sophomore goalie Erik Reynolds (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) had six saves with 13 goals allowed in 30 minutes of action.

 The Gators will host Keuka College on April 29 at noon in conjunction with Senior Day.
