Abreu stars as Gators best Medaille, 20-4 in E8 Men's Lacrosse Action

Buffalo, NY – Russell Sage College's men's lacrosse team picked up a convincing 20-4 road win over Medaille University as senior midfielder Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) scored seven goals and finished the day with eight points. RSC is now 5-9 overall and 1-3 in the league, while Medaille moves to 1-7overall and 0-2 in the Empire 8.

RSC combined for a single-game record of 68 shots in the contest, while bettering the old mark of 62 shots against Elmira in 2021.

RSC took a 10-1 halftime lead and had six different players figure into the team's scoring efforts. Abreu led the way with his personal-best seven goals, which ranks in a tie for the second most goals in a game. His eight points is tied for the sixth best effort as well in single-game records at RSC.

Rookie attackman Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) added four goals, while rookie Mame Diba (New York, NY/Haldane) had six points on three goals with three assists. 

Sophomore attacker Sebastian Carazo (Urbana, MD/McEachern) had four points on three goals with an assist, while graduate performer Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) added a pair of goals.  Martin continues to add to his career records that include 134 points, 86 goals and 48 assists.

Rookie goalie Andrew Collora (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) picked up the win after allowing just three goals with four saves in 45 minutes of work. Sophomore goalie Erik Reynolds (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) worked in the contest, yielding one goal in 15 minutes of service.

The Gators will travel to Nazareth College for 3 p.m. Empire 8 game on April 15.
