Collora makes 21 saves against Utica, but Gators fall on the road

Utica, NY – Russell Sage College's men's lacrosse team made a road trip to Utica University for a mid-week Empire 8 contest. RSC's fourth quarter efforts fell short as Utica triumphed, 14-9. RSC is now 4-9 overall and 0-3 in the league. Utica improves to 5-7 overall and 1-1 in the E8.

Rookie goalie Andrew Collora (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) finished with 21 saves in the contest, a career best effort. His 21 saves is tied for the second most in a single game as he is tied with the 21 saves recorded by Brandon Maresca on April 3, 2019 also against Utica. He drops to 4-9 in net. 

Rookie attackman Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) had a hat trick three ground balls and caused turn over. Graduate performer Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) added three points on a goal with two assists, while rookie Mame Diba (New York, NY/Haldane) also had a goal with two assists for three points.

Junior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) tallied a goal and an assist, while junior midfielder Anthony Marrone (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) also scored twice for the Gators.

The Gators will travel to Medaille University on April 8 for a 2 p.m. Empire 8 game.
