Saxons post Empire 8 win over RSC Men's Lacrosse Squad

Albany, NY – Russell Sage College's men's lacrosse team hosted the Saxons of Alfred University in their Empire 8 home opener. Alfred exploded for 28 goals en route to a 28-7 victory. Alfred improves to 6-3 overall and is 2-0 in the league. The setback puts RSC at 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the Empire 8.

Graduate performer Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) added three points on two goals with an assist, while junior midfielder Anthony Marrone (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) also three points on a pair of goals with an assist.

Alfred's Kevin Matson led all players with his 12 points on 10 goals with two assists, while Paul Forte added nine points on seven assists with two goals.

Sophomore defenseman Joe Johnson (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) and graduate player Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) each racked up six ground balls, while Obado added a goal and an assist for the Gators.

Rookie goalie Andrew Collora (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon), this week's Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week, made 13 in the contest.

The Gators will travel to Utica University on April 5 for a 4 p.m. Empire 8 game.
