Gators Drop Wednesday Matinee at Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass.  –  Russell Sage College wrapped up a stretch of four road games to commence the spring by falling 17-10 at Dean.

The Bulldogs outscored RSC 7-1 in the opening quarter to help take the Wednesday non-conference matinee.

Senior attacker Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ / Monroe Township) topped the Gators with five goals.

Freshman attacker Mame Diba (New York, NY/Haldane), one of six RSC players with multiple points, added a goal and two assists.

Sophomore defender Joe Johnson (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) registered eight ground balls and five caused turnovers, while freshman goalkeeper Andrew Collora (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) made 12 saves.

Junior attacker Diego Alvarez-Segee led Dean (2-0) with ten points on nine goals and an assist. 

RSC (1-3) hosts SUNY Plattsburgh in its home opener on Saturday at 1:00 pm. 


Notes: The Gators returned 20 players to this year's edition… Attacker Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central), a graduate student headlines the group…He began the spring as the program career goal scoring leader with 58 and sat second in school annals with 86 career points and 28 career assists…Sophomore defender Joe Johnson (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls), senior attacker Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township), and junior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) were voted co-captains.
