RSC Picks Up First Win of the Spring

AURORA, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College netted the first 11 goals to pick up this afternoon's 23-3 non-conference victory at Wells.

Senior attacker Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ / Monroe Township) led the Gators, which out-shot the host Express (0-1) 56-7, with five goals.

Junior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) added two goals and two assists, while sophomore attacker Kollin Matthews (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) recorded four assists.

RSC (1-2) finishes up a stretch of four road games to open the spring on Wednesday at Dean. Start time is set for 3:00 pm. 


Notes: The Gators returned 20 players to this year's edition… Attacker Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central), a graduate student headlines the group…He began the spring as the program career goal scoring leader with 58 and sat second in school annals with 86 career points and 28 career assists… Sophomore defender Joe Johnson (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls), senior attacker Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township), and junior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) were voted co-captains.
