
DANBURY, Conn. – Russell Sage College opened its season by falling 22-10 at Western Connecticut State this afternoon.
Midfielder Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood), a graduate student, paced the Gators with three goals.
Sophomore midfielder Chris Yadali (Valley Cottage, NY/Nyack) added two goals, while attacker Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central), a graduate student, recorded a goal and an assist.
Freshman goalkeeper Andrew Collora (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) (Loss - 0-1), made four saves, while sophomore goalkeeper Erik Reynolds (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) stopped six shots.
WestConn (2-0), coming off a 14-4 season and tabbed to finish second in the Little East Conference, had eight different players tally multiple points in the home victory. Sophomore attacker Julian Duque registered eight points on six goals and two assists to top WCSU, which held a 10-1 lead after the first quarter.
RSC (0-1) plays next on Saturday at Misericordia. The non-conference action is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
