Men's Lacrosse falls at Plattsburgh State

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Russell Sage College men's lacrosse team faced the Cardinals of Plattsburgh State on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match. Plattsburgh tallied the 21-5 victory to move to 3-9 on the season, while the loss puts the Gators at 5-8.

Attackman Hunter Brunelle (Skaneateles, NY/Jordan-Elbridge), a grad student, tallied two goals in the contest to add to his team-leading totals that stands at 47 points in 25 goals with 22 assists. Junior attackman Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) tallied a pair of assists, while Senior attackman Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) added one goal in the action.

Martin holds Sage's career goal scoring standard with his active mark that is now at 54 goals, while his 79 points is second all-time.

Freshman goalie Erik Reynolds (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) made 10 saves with 21 goals allowed as he is now 0-2 on his young career.

Sophomore midfielder Dean Sampson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) won 10-of-22 face-offs for the Gators and added three ground balls as well in the action. He leads the Gators with 67 ground balls on the year.

This afternoon marked the final non-conference contest of the spring for the Gators. RSC (5-8) returns to Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday at Keuka. The game is set to begin at 1:00 pm.

Notes: Hunter Brunelle has taken over the Gator scoring race with his 47 points on 25 goals with 23 assists.  Bailey Martin is tied for No. 2 on the career point list as he has 79 points on 54 goals with 25 assists. His 54 goals also stands first on the career goal list, while senior Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) continues to add to his active career record for most ground balls with 160.
