Golden Eagles End RSC Winning Streak

ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College saw its winning streak end at the hands of Saint Joseph's College - Long Island this afternoon. The visiting Golden Eagles outscored RSC 8-2 in the first half of the 14-8 setback.

Senior midfielder Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) (above) topped the Gators, which entered the contest winners of three-straight, with four points on three goals and an assist. He was one of three RSC players to net at least two goals in the Saturday matinee. Attackman Hunter Brunelle (Skaneateles, NY/Jordan-Elbridge), a grad student, added two goals and an assist, while senior attackman Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) scored twice. 

SJC (2-2) outscored the Gators 4-1 in each of the first two quarters to go into the break ahead 8-2. The third period scoring opened with goals by Obado and Brunelle, helping RSC cut into the deficit.  However, the Golden Eagles responded with the next four goals to regain control.

Junior attackman Jack Gilbride led the victors with six points, three goals and three assists. 

RSC (4-4) looks to return to the win column on Tuesday when it plays at Castleton at 7:00 PM. 


Notes: Brunelle totaled 17 points, nine goals and eight assists as RSC went 2-1 this week...Martin tallied 12 points, 10 goals and two assists, across the three games.
