Gators Use Strong Second Half to Earn Home Win

ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College held the College of Mt. St. Vincent scoreless after halftime of tonight's 15-4 win at ACP Stadium.

Sophomore midfielder Anthony Marrone (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) and senior attackman Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) scored three goals apiece to help the Gators pick up their first victory of the season.

Attackman Hunter Brunelle (Skaneateles, NY/Jordan-Elbridge), a grad student, added a goal and two assists, while sophomore midfielder Dean Sampson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) (above) won 17-of-22 face-offs.

Senior attackman Patrick Nagy topped the College of Mt. St. Vincent (0-1) with three goals.

RSC, which outshot the visiting Dolphins by a 61-19 margin, started strong, holding a 4-0 advantage after the opening quarter. CMSV battled back with four goals across 9:36 to get within two, 6-4, with 2:40 left before the break.  However, the Gators kept the Dolphins off the board the rest of the way.

Looking ahead, RSC (1-2) is slated to play next at SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
