Men's lacrosse team falls at NEC

Henniker, NH —The Gators of Sage travelled to New England College for a non-conference meeting on Wednesday afternoon. NEC posted a 22-11 win to improve to 3-1 overall, while Sage falls to 1-4 on the year.

NEC led 12-3 at the half and used a balanced attack to hand the Gators a road loss as Connor Smith added seven goals and three assists. Jacob Blanchette had four goals with 3 assists.

Sage's sophomore attacker Robert Martin (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) led the Gators with his four goals. Sophomore Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) tallied three goals with an assist, while sophomore midfielder Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) tallied a goal with two assists in the contest.

Sage's s sophomore goalie Michael Capitelli (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) made 17 saves in the contest and allowed 22 goals in the net as he falls to 1-4.

Robert Martin leads  the  Gators with his 18 points on 15 goals with three assists. Obado has a team-best seven assists thus far on the season. Martin continues to add to his active marks for most points with 71, while also leading the Gators with 37 assists.

Sage returns to action on March 10 as they will face Cazenovia College in a neutral game to be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia at 7 p.m.
