Gators drop men's lacrosse action to FSU Rams

Farmingdale, NY— The Sage Gators men's lacrosse team travelled to Farmingdale State University for a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon. The Rams earned a 20-3 win and are now 3-2 on the year. The loss puts the young Gators at 1-2 on the year.

The Rams led 11-2 at the half and were paced by the play of James Ragland, who had 4 goals and 2 assists, while Aj Sandorfi had 7 points on 3 goals with 4 assists. 

For the Gators, rookie attackman Matt Fisher (Niskayuna, NY/South Colonie) added a goal and an assist, while midfielder David Baraniuk (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive) added a goal. Junior attackman Austin Seymour (Albany, NY/Maple Hill) added a goal, while rookie midfielder Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) had a pair of assists in the match.

In goal for the Gators, rookie Brandon Maresca (Landing, NJ/Roxbury) suffered the loss after allowing 11 goals in the first half of play with 8 saves. Fellow freshman keeper Michael Capitelli (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) had 8 saves in 30 minutes of work with 9 goals allowed.

Sage returns to action on March 16 hosting SUNY-Cobleskill in a 1 p.m. non-conference match at ACP Field.
