Carpenter paces RSC as he takes home medalist honors at Elmira Spring Invitational

Elmira, NY – Russell Sage College men's golf team travelled to Elmira College on Tuesday to compete at the Elmira College Spring Invitational. The Gators were led by the efforts of junior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) as he finished as the medalist after shooting a 77.

Oswego State won the team title with a 336, while the Gators finished in fourth place in a field of eight teams.

 

Sophomore Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) finished in a tie for 11th after he posted an 88, while sophomore Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) carded a 90 and tied for 15th.

 

Junior Ian Maquire (Dunstable, MA/Groton Dunstable Regional) posted a 106 and was tied for 40th, while sophomore Alex Burns (Selden, NY/Newfield) was right behind him with a 107 and took home a tie for 42nd place.

 

Rookie Hunter Brenneis (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) shot a 112 and finished in 47th place, while junior Evan Austin (Latham, NY/Shaker) had a 116 and was 48th on the par, 72, 6,687 yard course.

 

RSC is back in action on April 29-30 competing at the Oswego State Spring Invitational.
