Baldwinsville, N.Y. – Russell Sage College men's golf team was in action on Saturday on the first day of the 2022 Empire 8 Fall Championship. The two-day event is being held at Timber Banks Country Club, a par 72 course with a distance 6,739 yards.

The Gators stand in sixth place (380) in the team standings, while St. John Fisher University holds the lead with a score of 314 paced by the play of Luke Buckley who fired a 76 on Saturday.

Sophomore Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) stands tied for ninth after carding an 82 for the day. Sophomore Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) carded an 83 and is tied for 21^st place.

Junior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) had an 89 and is tied for 25^th, while rookie Hunter Brenneis (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) shot a 106 and is 39^th. Newcomer Sam Shaw (Cicero, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) turned in a round of 107 and is tied for 40^th.
