Gators wrap action at Oswego Fall Invitational

 

Oswego, N.Y. – Russell Sage College men's golf team was in action on Saturday and Sunday competing at the Oswego State University Fall Invitational. The event was held Oswego Country Club, a par 71 course with a distance of 6,424 yards.

The Gators shot rounds of 363-366 to combine for a 729 and finished in 11th place in the team standings after Sunday's round was played in very rainy and windy conditions.

For the Gators, junior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) had a 170 (85-85) and finished tied for 40th place. Sophomore Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) carded a 171 (84-87) and tied for 45th place. Sophomore Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) finished in a tie for 51st place on a round of 88 on opening day and 90 on Sunday (178). Rookie Hunter Brenneis (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) shot a two-day total of 210 (106-104), while rookie Sam Shaw (Cicero, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) turned in a round of 119 on Saturday, but withdrew on Sunday..

Looking ahead, the Gators are back in action on Saturday-Sunday, October 1-2 at the 2022 Empire 8 Fall Championship which will take place at Timber Banks Golf Course (Baldwinsville, NY).
