Men's Golf Takes Home Ninth at Elmira Invitational

Elmira, N.Y. – Russell Sage College men's golf team was in action on Tuesday at the Elmira College Invitational held at the Elmira Country Club, a par 72 course with a distance of 6,692 yards. SUNY-Canton won the team title shooting a 325 for the day, besting the field of 12teams.

Sophomore Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) was the leader for RSC as he carded an 84 on the day and finished in 18th place. Junior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) had an 89 for the day and was 30th.

Sophomore Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) turned in a round of 90 and was 33rd, while freshman Hunter Brenneis (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) had a round of 105 and tied for 50th. Rookie Sam Shaw (Cicero, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) turned in a round of 111 at the tournament and was 53rd.

The Gators' team total of 368 was good for ninth among 12 competing institutions. 

Looking ahead, the Gators are back in action on Saturday, September 17 hosting the Sage Fall Invitational at the Colonie Golf and Country Club. The event commences at noon with both the Sage men's and women's teams hosting the field of competitors.
