Gator golfers take home fourth place at E8 Championship

Baldwinsville, NY—Russell Sage College's men's golf team wrapped up play at the 2021 Empire 8 Fall Championships on Sunday. The two-day event was held at Timber Banks Country Club, a 72 course with a 6,739 distance.  St. John Fisher College won the team crown with a total of 628 (311-317), besting Utica by just one stroke, 629 (320-309). Oswego State finished in third place with a 645 (314+331), while RSC finished in fourth place with a 654 (321+333).

RSC's senior Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia/Trinity Christian School) finished in ninth place after he combined for a 162 on rounds of 79 and 83. Graduate player Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) is tied for 12th after he posted a 163 on rounds of 83 on Saturday and an 80 on Sunday.  

RSC's sophomore Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) finished in a tie for 15th place after he finished with a 164. He led after day one with his 74 but shot a 90 on Sunday.

Rookie Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) picked up 17th place after he shot a 165 (85+80), while junior Aidan O'Neil (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) finished in 30th place with a 185 (88+97). Graduate performer Ethan Peters (Hudson, NY/Hudson) finished in 41st place with a 266 (141+125).

The event wraps the fall season for the Gators.
