Pritchard chosen Gator of the Year

Albany, NY — The Sage Colleges' department of athletics recently announced the recipients of the department's annual awards.  Named the 2019-2020 Sage men's golf Gator of the Year was junior co-captain Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy). With this year's selection, Pritchard has earned three straight Gator of the Year awards.

Head men's golf coach Kevin Cain commented, "Blake Pritchard has become a true leader for the men's golf team at Sage." He added, "He has worked tirelessly on his golf game this season and the results speak for themselves. He had an individual victory at the Cobleskill Championship and a seventh place finish at the Empire 8 Fall Championship."

Earlier this spring, earned a selection to the 2019-2020 Empire 8 All-League Second Team, while also earning a selection as a member of the Sportsman of the Year Team. While competing at the league's fall championship, Pritchard picked up an impressive tie for seventh place with his two-day total of 160 (83-77).

Over the course of this past fall, he opened 2019 with finish as the medalist at the SUNY-Cobleskill Fall Jug Invitational after posting a score of 73 at the tournament. He carded a 36 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine to take home the title and lead Sage to a third place team finish.
