Golfers battle weather and opponents at Oswego Invitational

SAGE GOLFERS OPEN PLAY AT 22nd ANNUAL OSWEGO FALL INVITATIONAL

Oswego, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's golf team competed on Saturday on the first day of the 22nd Annual Oswego State Fall Invitational, held at Oswego Country Club. Sage stands in ninth place after day one with a team score of 340, while SUNY-Delhi sits atop the leaderboard with a 298 in the 10-team field.  SUNY-Delhi's Jeff McWilliams is the leader in the club house after one day with a 71.

For the Gators after day one of the tournament which was played in rainy conditions, junior Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) carded an 80, while senior Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) shot an 81. Rookie Connor Affinito (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) added an 88, while sophomore golfer Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia/Trinity Christian School) posted a 91 for the day and senior Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) finished day one with a 97.

Sage returns to the course on Sunday to wrap play at the two-day event.
