Golfers fall just short to SUNY-Cobleskill on Tuesday

Voorheesville, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's golf team hosted the Fighting Tigers of SUNY-Cobleskill on Tuesday afternoon at the Colonie Golf and Country Club on a rain-soaked day. SUNY-Cobleskill won the match, 321-336 and had the co-medalists as senior Colin Hizny (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) and senior Cody Latimer (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake) both finished with 77 for the day.

Sage's freshman Aidan O'Neil (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) finished in third, just six over par with a 78. Junior Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) picked up a fourth place finish with a 79.

Cobleskill's sophomore Joe Perry (Watertown, NY/South Jefferson) carded an 83 and took fifth. Freshmen teammates Andrew Stillwell (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) and Brock Ricketts (Cherry Creek, NY/Pine Valley) tied for sixth with rounds of 84.

Sage's sophomore Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) posted an 84 and took home eighth.  Junior Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) finished in ninth place after recording a 93 and senior Austin Laverty (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) took home tenth with a 116.

Next up for the Gators, they will travel to the Elms College Invitational on October 6-7 at Ledges Country Club in South Hadley, MA.
