Golfers stand in 8th place after Day one of 2018 Empire 8 Fall Championship

Baldwinsville, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's golf team opened play on Saturday at the 2018 Empire 8 Fall Championship held at the  Timber Banks Country Club, a par 72, 6,739 yard course. Through the first day's play, Sage is in eighth place with a team score of 362. Defending league champions, St. John Fisher posted an opening day score of 300, just 12 over par.

Andrew Fedele of SJFC has a 71, one under par for the early one-day leaderboard finish, while Sage's top finisher through play on Saturday was sophomore Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) with an 81 to stand tied for 19th place. Junior Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) added a round of 85 to stand in 35th place.

Newcomer Aidan O'Neil (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) posted a 97 on the day and is tied for 41st place.  Two strokes behind him was junior Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) as he carded a 99 and is tied for 43rd place.

Rounding out the Gator performers on Saturday were newcomer, Adam Parker (Quechee, VT/Hartford) as he stands in 46 the place with a 116, while senior Austin Laverty (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) shot a 119 to stand in 47th place.
