Sage golfers wrap first day of 2017 Empire 8 Championship

Oneida, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's golf team is competing in the program's first Empire 8 Championship. The two-day event is being held at Kanon Valley Golf Course, a par 72, 6,700 yard course and will wrap on Sunday. After one round, St. John Fisher College is in first place with a team score of 294. Sage is currently in ninth place with a 405.

Sage's rookie Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) carded an 89 to lead the Gators and is currently tied for 39th. Sophomore Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) posted a 91 for the day and stands in 42nd place. Sophomore Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) added a 100 for the round and is tied for 48th place. Rounding out the gators on Saturday is a new team member, senior Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and he had a 125 for the day.
