Sage falls short at MCLA

Pittsfield, MA---The Sage Colleges' men's golf team travelled to Massachusetts and faced the Trailblazers of MCLA in a dual match held at Berkshire Hills Country Club on Sunday afternoon. The host Trailblazers won the meet with a score of 338-462.

The match was played in windy and wet conditions on the 6,600 yard, par 72 layout.  Nick Bator took home medalist honors for MCLA after shooting a solid round of 83.  Three Trailblazers, Josh Fortier, Doug Sigsbury, and Reese Dwyer, each carded 85's to round out the scoring for MCLA.   Other Trailblazers competing were Nolan Bird (92) and Liam Nolan (94).

Leading the way for Sage was junior captain Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) as he carded a 99, while rookies Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) had a 115 and Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) carded a 118. Sophomore Austin Laverty (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) carded a 130 for Sage.

Sage returns to action on Sunday and Monday, October 30-31 when they travel to Beth Page Black for the 2016 Skyline Conference Championship.
