Farmingdale, NY---The Sage Colleges' men's golf team wrapped competition at the 2014 Skyline Conference Championship, which was held at the Bethpage State Park on the Red Course. The two-day event wrapped with Farmingdale State winning the league team title and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship in May. The Rams posted back to back rounds of 305 to finish with a 610 and collect the program's seventh league title. Sage shot a 644 for the event and finished in fourth place overall.
Sage's senior captain Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake) saved his best performance in the Skyline Conference Tournament for his final round as a Gator. A three-time Skyline Conference Second Team all-star, Sullivan shot a two-day total of 152 (76-76) and finished in fifth place earning Skyline Conference All-Star First Team status, becoming the most decorated Sage men's golfer in the program's history.
Senior DJ Ioele (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) as finished in 12th place after carding a 157 for the tournament (75-82), marking his best showing in the conference tournament as well. Sophomore Kevin Johnston (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) shot a round of 78 on opening day and 80 on Monday to finish with a 158 and took home 13th place. Sophomore Henry Taylor (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) carded an 89 on day one and shot an 88 to post a two-day total of 177 and tied for 24th in his first Skyline Conference Tournament.
