Luke Scala steps down as Sage men's golf coach; Search for replacement underway

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' announces the resignation of men's golf coach Luke Scala.  Director of Athletics and Recreation, Dani Drews said of Scala, "We thank Luke for his dedication to our program and his hard work in establishing Sage's men's golf team as a consistent contender for the Skyline Conference title."

During his time at Sage, Scala served as the head men's golf coach for five seasons. He guided the program to three straight Skyline Conference runner-up titles (2011, 2012, and 2013), while also producing Sage's first CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-American, Dan Schultz in 2012, while garnering the Skyline Conference Team Sportsmanship Award in 2011. Over the course of his tenure with the Gators, he also produced four Skyline Conference First Team performers, five Skyline Conference Second Team performers, and one Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as well as the reigning Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year in freshman Kevin Johnston (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville).

A search for a replacement is underway.
