Albany, NY – The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2013-2014 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. In addition to awarding the Gator Award, for the Most Outstanding Player, the department also named the 2013-2014 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as well as the ECAC Merit Medal and the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Senior Zachary Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Spa) was named the recipient of the Gator Award winner for his efforts in men's golf. Sullivan was also a member of Sage's men's volleyball team this past year.

Additionally, Sullivan was also named to The Sage College's Intercollegiate Athletic Honor Society, which recognized junior, senior, or graduate level student-athletes, that have maintained a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.3 or better and have participated as a member of a varsity team for at least two seasons. He is a two-time honoree having also earned a selection as a junior.

Head Men's Golf Coach Luke Scala said of Zach, "Zack has a quality that never goes out of style, it's called hard work!" Scala added, "he applies this to his studies and also to his golf game and the results have been outstanding both in the classroom and on the golf course. In his three seasons as a member of the golf team, Zach has been rewarded for his outstanding play with many honors. Zach is a pleasure to coach and is an inspiration to his team for his balance of academics and athletics."

A member of three straight Skyline Conference Men's Golf Runner-up teams, Sullivan capped his senior season earning his third straight selection to the Skyline Conference All-Star Second Team. His 2013 selection came after he carded a 158 at the league championship to finish in 10th place. He shot an opening-day round of 83 and a 75 on the final day. By season's end, Sullivan was named to the 2013 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team, while also earning the 2013 Skyline Conference Men's Golf Sportsmanship Award. A member of the 2013-2014 Sage Scholar-Athlete Team, Sullivan also lent his talents to the men's volleyball team for the first time in 2014.

Head men's volleyball coach, Jimmy Pompeo added of Sullivan, "Zach has quickly become a very talented volleyball player and his commitment and loyalty to the program will echo throughout his professional career." Pompeo added, "Effort like his, every day in the gym and in the classroom should be rewarded and I know he will do great things in the future. I know Coach Scala would agree, that student-athletes like Zach come around once in a lifetime and we both have appreciated the aid he provided in the success of Sage Athletics!"
