Newburgh, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's golf team travelled to the Knights' Invitational hosted by Mt. St. Mary College at the Powelton Club, a par 70, 6193 yard course. Farmingdale State took home the championship title with a score of 292 for the day and had the medalist as well in Adam Larkin's round of 71 after winning the title on the second hole of a playoff.
Sage finished in third place with a 312 for the day in a six-team field. Sage had five players finish in the Top 25 on Friday afternoon paced by the play of Sage's senior captain Richie Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) and senior Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake) as the pair tied for seventh place with a score of 75 on the day, just five over par.

Rounding out the Gators competing on the day, rookie Kevin Johnston (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) finished with a round of 80 to take 16th, while sophomore D.J. Ioele (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) and senior Jeff Stopera (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) tied for 18th place with an 82.
The Gators return to action on October 11 and 12 at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout at the Pinehaven Country Club (Guilderland, NY).
