The Saxons jumped out to 28-19 lead at the break and the Gators were unable to recover from the early deficit.

Sophomore guard Noah Girard (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) finished with 12 points and connected for 6-of-8 shooting from the floor.

Junior guard Darvin Lovette (Syracuse, NY/Redemption Christian Academy) made 5-of-12 shots from the floor en route to a 10 point and seven rebound effort.

Rookie guard Griffin Fraterrigo (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) racked up a career-best five points off the bench for the Gators in the contest.

Alfred boasts a five-game win streak and has now won eight of their last nine games and leads the league with five conference victories.  Thirteen different players scored in the game as Brewster Marshall, Mike Schmidt, and Kevin Durkin all finished in double-digit scoring.

The Gators return to the hardwood on Tuesday, January 10 hosting Hartwick College at Robinson Court in the Kahl Campus Center in Albany with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off in Empire 8 play.
