Kidd and Larose honored by Empire 8

Albany, NY— The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team was honored on Thursday with the release of the 2018-2019 Empire 8 Men's Basketball All-Star Teams.

Sage's senior Chris Kidd (Troy, NY/Beacon) earned a selection to the Empire 8 Second Team, while a graduate player Frane Larose (Miami, FL/North Miami Beach Senior) was tapped for the Empire 8 Sportsmanship Team.

Kidd, who has earned acclaim this season as the Gators' leading scorer on the campaign after averaging 12.8 ppg with 321 points and a team-best 8.3 rpg average. He collected 10 double-doubles as well on the year. In his Sage career he added 414 career points and is fourth all-time with his 13.4 career ppg average. A 1,000 point scorer over the course of his collegiate career, he was Sage's high scorer six times this year and also the high rebounder 12 times as well for the Gators. His career-high single-game performance was a 30-point game in the Gators' overtime victory over Utica, 95-89, while adding 14 rebounds against Elmira this year.

Larose, who missed last season with an injury, has returned this year and has a personal-best 7.5 ppg average on the year with 167 career assists, which puts him fourth all-time on the Gator career list in 48 games played in a Sage uniform.  A 25-game starter this year, he added 7.5 ppg with a team-best 114 assists and 43 steals. He poured in 10 assists in his final Sage game tying his personal-best which ranks third all-time in Sage single-game marks.
