Sage falls on the road to SUNY-New Paltz, 77-72

New Paltz, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's basketball squad was in action Tuesday night in a non-conference match-up at SUNY-New Paltz. The host Hawks collected a 77-72 win to improve to 3-3, while the loss puts Sage at 2-5.

The Hawks held a 40-36 lead at the half and the Gators had a strong second half but could not fend off the New Paltz in the final minutes of the game.

Leading the way for the Gators was senior forward Chris Kidd (Troy, NY/Beacon) with his double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. He added 15 second half points in the second half to spur the Sage run down the stretch. Kidd also added two blocked shots and shot 8-14 from the floor as well for Sage.

Junior Isaiah Scurry (Albany, NY/Albany) finished with 14 points for Sage, while junior guard Darius Denmark (Orlando, FL/Evans) added 10 points.

Sage is back in action on December 6 hosting SUNY-Delhi in a 7 p.m. non-conference game at Kahl Gym.
